ABSTRACT
The article discusses the increase in the use of small-diameter (SDIs) dental implants of edentulous people in the U.S. The Food and Drug Administration approved the use of conventional implants and standard-diameter implants in the late 1970s. It mentions the techniques in the restoration of SDIs like the rubber o-ring denture retention using SDIs a soft relining materials, and detention attachment retentiion. SDIs provide dentists and patients an option to conventional-diameter implants.
