ABSTRACT
Develops a long cavity gallium aluminum arsenide (GaAlAs) laser with nonabsorbing mirror buried twin ridge substrate structure to obtain high power single mode operation. Effect of longitudinal mode operation on spatial mode; Independence of laser on the output power; Cause for the small beam expansion of the long cavity lasers.
