ABSTRACT
The article explores the market for mediators and for mediation providers, particularly those in private practice in the U.S. Cited are the differences between the states with court-mandated mediation and those without. Based on income distribution data, it has been found that the private mediation market is uneven and is a winner-take-all market. The economic reasons that contribute to such phenomenon are suggested such as non-homogeneity of the product and de factor barriers to entry.
