ABSTRACT
The author provides an insight into the vital issue of guns and gun control in the U.S. in response to the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II in Saint Peter's Square in Vatican City in 1981. He questions the logic behind various resistance to gun-control campaigns. The magazine, "Guns & Ammo," with a cover bearing the caption "Gun Control Won't Stop Violence," is criticized. Functions of guns, as well as its threatening features, are discussed.
