ABSTRACT
The article offers tips on choosing the right racking system for a distribution center. Guidelines for evaluating which storage medium best meets the needs of a facility are outlined. It suggested the importance for companies to understand the specifications and limitations of the lift trucks that will be accessing the storage racks. Some of the various types to consider when choosing a rack storage system are pallet flow rack, drive-in/drive-thru rack and push back rack.
