ABSTRACT
The article reports on the completion by the first Boeing P-8A Poseidon submarine hunter of its maiden flight in three hours, taking off in Renton and landing in Seattle in Washington. The submarine hunter is said to be the military counterpart of the Boeing 737 commercial jetliner. According to P-8A program manager Bob Feldmann, the team realizes the needs of the U.S. Navy and maritime patrol community and is committed to accomplish future milestones ahead of schedule. The first P-8A is set to engage in active service in 2013.
