ABSTRACT
The author suggests manufacturing companies to avoid hockey sticks or a sharp increase in output at the end of the month or quarter. Hockey stick creates unnecessary overtime and consumption of resources because of the company's attempt to reach its production goal. The author recommends managers to stop the hockey stick behavior in one period to break the cycle and return to a less wasteful practice.
