Reports on the application of the binary-encounter-Bethe model for electron-impact total ionization cross sections to molecules of interest to atmospheric science. Use of simple theoretical data for the ground state of the target molecule made readily available from molecular structure codes; Use of vertical ionization potentials (IP) rather than adiabatic IP for the lowest IP.
