The article reports on the announcement that there is a growth of split-caps in the investment trust space due to higher income tax in Great Britain. According to JP Morgan Chase & Co. vice president of investment trust product development, Richerd Plaskett, the split-caps could expand with the increasing appeal of zero-dividend preference shares among high-earners. It is stated that using split-caps to perform tax-avoidance scheme, there would be sufficient incentive with a 40% tax rate.
