ABSTRACT
The article discusses the reasons why real estate investment trusts (REITs) have remained attractive to investors despite uncertainty in the market. Since REITs' emergence to the market, they have acquired larger shares with considerable growth. Advantages of REITs include tax advantages, capital preservation and appreciation, and diversity. It has been identified that REITs have stable income features and a high potential for capital appreciation compared to highly liquid investment products because they are demanded to offer 90 percent of their taxable income.
