ABSTRACT
Investigates the restoration of longitudinal equilibrium magnetization in phase-separated solid helium mixtures using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Dependence of thermomagnetic relaxation on the energy of tipping NMR pulses; Nonmonotonic restoration of magnetization; Assumption on the existence of magnetic and thermal relaxation.

The spin-lattice relaxation time in two samples of ³He-[sup 4]He solid mixtures with initial concentrations of 0.5% ³He in [sup 4]He and 0.5% [sup 4]He in ³He is measured by the pulsed NMR method. As a result of phase separation, in both cases two-phase crystals form, having the same...

Spin-lattice relaxation times T[sub 1] were measured for solid ³He at temperatures of 0.22 to 0.73 K in a 44-Oe magnetic field. An increase in T[sub 1] at temperatures higher than approximately 0.4 K was related to switching on the vacancy mechanism of atomic mobility in the crystal. At a...

Processes of spin-lattice relaxation in superfluid inclusions, formed during growth and rapid cooling of helium crystals, are studied by the pulse nuclear magnetic resonance method. Measurements of spin-lattice relaxation times were carried out using the two spin-echoes method. This allows to...

We present a new simplified derivation of the effect of lattice relaxation that accompanies the quantum tunneling of He impurities in solid He on the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation of the He impurities for very low impurity concentrations. As a result of the larger zero point motion of the He...

We measured electron spin echoes from deuterium atoms within deuterium-helium solids with an X-band pulse ESR spectrometer. Our two-pulse electron spin echo envelope modulation (ESEEM) measurements are well described by a model that places 50% – 60% of the deuterium atoms at the interface...
