The microscopic structure of Na[sup +]-doped helium clusters (Na[sup +]·He[sub N]) is investigated by employing the path integral Monte Carlo (PIMC) method. Our primary interest is in determining the nature of superfluidity in these clusters by examining the temperature and size dependences...

    We have studied the stability of mixed ³He/4He clusters in L = 0 and L = 1 states by the diffusion Monte Carlo method, employing the Tang-Toennies-Yiu (TTY) He-He potential. The clusters ³He4HeM (L = 0, S = ½) and ³He24HeM (L = 0, S = 0) are stable for M > 1, while to bind two ³He...

The structure of small mixed helium clusters doped with one calcium atom has been determined within the diffusion Monte Carlo framework. The results show that the calcium atom sits at the 4He–3He interface. This is in agreement with previous studies, both experimental and theoretical,...

Variational Monte Carlo techniques are employed in studying 4He clusters, with and without an H2 impurity. We find that a novel, yet simple, analytic nuclear wave-function form, derived from a numerical H2He wave function, yields high accuracy in computed ground-state energies of 4HeN. For the...
