ABSTRACT
The article offers information on a research on the common reasons that lead to failure in the total hip replacements in U.S. Researchers examined the data from 50,000 patients who underwent total hip replacement surgeries in the U.S. between October 1, 2005 and December 31, 2006. Some of the common reasons observed by the researchers include dislocation of the implant, loosening of the implant or infection, either around the time of surgery or later.
