Investigates clusters composed of a single fullerene molecule and several phosphorus or sulfur molecules produced in a low pressure inert gas aggregation cell. Use of vacuum-ultraviolet photoionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry; Indication of the formation of a layer on the fullerene surfaces by molecules from the intensity anomalies in the mass spectra.

We have employed 800 nm 150 fs laser pulses to carry out photoionization (PI) time-of-flight mass spectrometric detection of intermediates following corona discharges on aromatic molecules (alkylbenzenes and pyridine) in He, stabilized by subsequent supersonic gas expansions. Abstract. We report an experimental study of the fragmentation/aggregation and coalescence of fullerenes incorporated in two different aerogel matrices, one of which was found to be reactively bonded to the silica network and the other was not. Using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy the reactive...

The radiative cooling of positively charged fullerene and endohedral fullerene fragments of C60, C70, C84, and La@C82 has been measured in a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. The radiative cooling is measured via its influence on the metastable decay. The emissivity extracted from the data is...

We have studied the process of fragmentation of a molecular ion of C60 fullerene, which takes place as a result of the loss of five electrons in collision with a 64-keV Ar6+ ion. Production of the anions (negative ions) has been observed by femtosecond laser ablation (fsLA) of solid C60 with a time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectrometer. In contrast to C60+, production of C60- due to an electron capture is found very limited because of the small electron affinity of the C60...

We are developing an ECRIS apparatus which is designed for the production of endohedral fullerenes. Our promising approaches to produce the endohedral fullerenes using the ECRIS are the ion-ion collision reaction of fullerenes and the other atom in their mixture plasma and simple ion...
