The article reports that the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society has teamed up with nonprofit COMCARE Emergency Response Alliance to make life-saving electronic medical records information easy to access. The idea is to create software systems that relied on federally sponsored data standards so that they could share information between independent organizations during medical emergencies.
