ABSTRACT
The article reports that the U.S. rubber product trade deficit declined 3% in 2008, as exports increased more than imports in some of the largest rubber categories. The deficit for the year was $7.63 billion with exports rising 8.8% to $7.67 billion and imports 2.6 percent to $15.3 billion. The tires and related products deficit dropped 5.1% in 2008 to $5.28 billion. A chart depicting the trade balance of the U.S. rubber industry is also presented.
