The article relates the development of Kargan forest farm in New Zealand. In 1969, Kargan Forests Ltd. was born with the purchase of 61 hectares in the Waikanae river catchments north of Wellington. Directors who managed the company were Keith Chandler, Alan Milne, Rob Aspden, Gary Blake and Alan Chandler. The process of preparing Kargan land is detailed. The Kargan forest is divided into 11 compartments and planted with radiata pine, Douglas fir, eucalypts, blackwood and poplars. The income and expenditure generated by the farm is detailed.
