ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the performance of Nevada's University Medical Center in its current-year budget. An operating loss of $16.9 million was posted by the Las Vegas, Nevada-owned hospital during the fiscal third quarter that ended March 31, 2009, while its net revenues declined by four percent to $121.2 million. The hospital's performance can be attributed to a drop in number of patients and the amount it collects on each bill.
