ABSTRACT
The article reports on the arrival of Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) All Terrain Vehicles (M-ATV) from the firm Oshkosh Defense at the Aberdeen Proving Ground of the U.S. Army in Maryland for evaluation. The M-ATV is designed to meet the need for a vehicle to operate in the off-road terrain of Afghanistan. It provides the necessary crew protection through the integration of an armor system from Plasan North America. The TAK-4 independent suspension system of Oshkosh has been integrated to achieve the required mobility for M-ATV.
