ABSTRACT
This article looks at the economic performance of Las Vegas, Nevada as of March 2009. Particular focus is given to the slight increase in the Consumer Price Index in January. There has been a continued downward trend in the Standard & Poor/Case-Shiller Home Price Index in December 2008. In Las Vegas, the Case-Shiller Home Price Index posted a 4.8% drop. The increase in vacancies for rental products can be attributed to job losses and an increase in unemployment levels.
