ABSTRACT
This article reports on the offer made by Boyd Gaming Corp. to acquire a significant portion of locals gaming rival Station Casinos in Nevada. There are nine Boyd Gaming casinos in the state. Green Valley Ranch Resort, Aliante Station and Texas Station are some of the properties included in the proposed acquisition deal. Particular focus is given to the financial woes of Station Casinos, as well as its prepackaged bankruptcy proposal. Wachovia gaming analyst Dennis Farrell Jr. is optimistic about Boyd Gaming's proposal.
