Tevbe-nâme is one of the genres written in Classical Turkish poetry. Tevbe-nâme that has common characteristics with prayer due to its begging expressions differs from prayer in that it focuses only on forswearing. Tevbe-nâme can either be written in a separate verse form and or can be included as a part of a mesnevi as well. This study focuses on genre concept, religious verse types and the dictionary and term meaning of tevbe word. The tevbe-nâme genres that are found as a result of our studies are classified, a short analysis of texts is done, all the tevbe-nâme texts that have not been published before by Veysi, Mustafa Şehdî and Refî'-i Kâlâyî are included in the study.
