ABSTRACT
This section offers news briefs related to personnel management as of March 12, 2009. Admiral Group launched a choir wherein call center workers join two-hour monthly practice sessions that aim to prevent sore throats and cope with infections among them, to reduce their absenteeism, and to increase their motivation. First Direct was awarded the Carbon Trust Standard after reducing its carbon emissions by more than 14%. Official data shows that work applications in Great Britain from the eight accession countries dropped from 53,000 to 29,000.
