ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a warning issued by Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) of the need for the British government to restrict non-European Union (EU) labour if it is to protect jobs for British workers. Strikes were held across the country in response to the use of foreign construction workers at an oil refinery in Lincolnshire, England. According to CIPD Chief Economist John Philpott, the entire EU would feel the effect of self-defeating labour wars.
