ABSTRACT
This article reports on the decision of Alstom Transport to purchase a 25 percent plus one share stake in Transmashholding in 2009. The significance of the move is discussed. It describes the terms of the agreement between Alstom and Transmashholding. It also reveals the plans of Alstom to develop a modular locomotive platform.
