The article offers information on a report by Dow Jones VentureSource, which claims venture capital (VC) investments in the international markets dropped 50 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) for the quarter ending March 31, 2009. During 2009 first quarter, $1.87 billion was invested in emerging companies based in Europe, Israel, China, and India. VC investments in the U.S. market also fell 50 percent y-o-y to $3.89 billion.
