The Convergence of Building Controls, IT

May 2009
Heating/Piping/Air Conditioning Engineering;May2009, Vol. 81 Issue 5, p28
The article presents the survey on common practices in the development of building-automation systems (BAS). Valentine A. Lehr, a senior partner of Lehr Consultants International, believes that there is no reason to use a BAS manufacturer's graphics in the advent of graphic user interfaces (GUI). Brian Dutt, vice president of sales and marketing for Delta Controls Inc., thinks that the removal of GUI development from a controls contract is only useful if an owner looks for competitive bids.
