The article focuses on the life and work of artist Dorothy Caldwell as well as her approach in quilting. The design of her quilts is based from the shape and colors of her surroundings such as a piece of country property bought by her and husband Bill Wood. Description of Caldwell's works such as "Four Patch: Hay/Wheat/Rye/Barley" and "Sown Field, Winter Wheat, Four Patch: Hay/Wheat/Rye/Barley" is also discussed.
