Reports that former Landmark managing director Karl Briant has avoided arrest after failing to attend an Edinburgh Sheriff Court in England for sentencing by pleading poverty. Guilty plea made by Briant of selling a secondhand sofa as new; Effort of Landmark receiver BDO Stoy Hayward to sell the furniture chain.
