ABSTRACT
The article reports on the issuance of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) on two new statements to help financial statement preparers. The two new statements cover GASB Statement No. 55 and GASB Statement No. 56 with the intention of making the work of preparers of state and local government financial statements easier. It determines and applies the guidance relative to the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) without the need to refer to other sources.
