ABSTRACT
The article addresses the need for leaders to consider how notions of community and corporation can be integrated to more effectively meet sustainable needs of people. In "Future Shock," Alvin Toffler predicted that the exponential growth in the rate of change is having a deleterious impact on the ability to adjust to changing circumstances. The seven paradoxes that leaders need to manage in order to build community include long-term versus short-term, part versus whole and uniformity versus diversity.
