ABSTRACT
The author talks about forging leadership. He relates the lesson taught by Abigail Adams, mother of former U.S. President John Quincy Adams, to her son about leadership. He believes that leadership can be taught through the lessons and stories of those who came before them, through mentoring and through a season in the crucible that no generation has experienced since the Greatest Generation. The core aspects of leadership are mentioned which include the capacity for good judgment and the ability to engage others.
