ABSTRACT
The article discusses a court case wherein the defendant boxing superstar Mike Tyson was charged with rape, criminal deviant conduct, and confinement in 1992. The charges were based on the accounts of Desiree Washington, the Miss Rhode Island in the Miss Black America Pageant in July 1991. Tyson insisted that Washington was aware of his sexual intentions.
