Combat Aircraft Programmes in Latin America

The article focuses on the combat aircraft procurement programmes of various countries in Latin America. The F-X programme by the Brazilian Air Force is for a multirole fighter to replace its existing fighter aircrafts. The Chilean government has decided to increase the nation's military power, and an international competition was launched and led to the selection of the F-16C/D, the GRIPEN, and the Mirage 2000 fighters.
