ABSTRACT
The article reports on the predictions of Jorge Sicilia, Grupo BBVA's chief economist for North America, on the result of U.S. President Barack Obama's economic stimulus plan by late 2009 and early 2010. Sicilia mentions that the $800 billion stimulus package is large enough to prevent U.S. economy from falling further and when it starts its road toward recovery, the rest of the world will follow. In the Latin American region, he sees no big obstacles or need for stimulus packages.
