ABSTRACT
The article reports on the findings of a clinical study which examines whether feeding tubes will help patients with degenerative dementia. The study's lead author Elizabeth Sampson, a lecturer at the Marie Curie Palliative Care Research Unit in London, England, said that there is no research evidence that tube feeding neither prolongs survival nor improves the quality of life of patients with advanced dementia. Sampson adds that feeding tubes do not benefits patients with such disease.
