ABSTRACT
The article reports that credit unions (CUs) have already engaged in the application of online auction sites to encourage investments in the U.S. David Bieneman, vice president and chief financial officer at State Central, notes that auction sites have a lower interest-rate environment that allows CUs' net interest margin to go down. It also features the online auction site MoneyAisle.com where banks insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. bid in real time to get deposits.
