ABSTRACT
The article presents information on a randomized placebo-controlled trial which evaluated the effectiveness of vitamin E or vitamin C in reducing the risk of prostate or any other form of cancer in middle-aged and older men. The trial conducted revealed that supplementation with vitamin E or vitamin C does not decrease risk for prostate or total cancer in middle-aged and older men. However, it is indicated that smokers might benefit from vitamin E because of their increased oxidative stress.
