Go-ahead for small hydro projects

The article offers updates on several small hydro projects on the approval given by the Scottish government to Scottish and Southern Energy for a new 3.5 Megawatt hydro power scheme, near Strathcarron in the northwest Highlands. Partnering with the Small Hydro Company and backed by Climate Change Capital's Ventus fund, British Waterways would install 25 small hydro schemes along its waterways and would submit planning applications for the first five schemes in March 2009.
