ABSTRACT
A reprint of the article "Disco funerals: A risk situation for HIV infection among youth in Kisumu, Kenya," by A. Njue et al, which appeared in a 2009 issue of "AIDS." It states that funerals are common in the country due to the prevalence of HIV infection. Families of deceased hold large parties in order to raise funds for funeral expenses, complete with party favors and disc jockeys.
