Are Indian chemical industries clueless about the global melt down?

The article examines the preparedness of Indian chemical industries to overcome the problems and difficulties as a result of the global melt down. An overview of the state of Indian chemical industry is presented along with the impact of the global slow down and declining global market. The reaction of the industry in the earlier oil crisis is analyzed along with government inaction. Opportunities are explored in relation to the huge investment promises attracted by Gujarat.
