ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the objective of human resource (HR) practices and the credibility of the HR function. He argues that what makes an organisation truly admired resides on the substance and not on the style of management. He discusses the company objective of Oracle and criticizes the notion that HR and company success are linked. The author also claims that the success or failure of the overall enterprise makes organisations admired.
