ABSTRACT
The article focuses on two studies related to Head Start programs in the U.S. The Family and Child Experiences Survey (FACES) monitored the progress of students who enrolled in the programs in the years 1997, 2000 and 2003. The Head Start Impact Study examined the progress of three-year-old and four-year-old children through first grade to determine whether their skills improved as a result of the influence of Head Start programs.
