Assembly;Apr2009, Vol. 52 Issue 4, p8
The article presents information on an automated system for cladding wheels designed by Kinemetrix Industrial Design & Manufacturing Inc. for an automotive supplier. A nine-station asynchronous conveyor system, which assembles 200 wheels per hour, is equipped with multiple robots. Jim Peyton, president of Kinemetrix, believes the system is successful because of the supplier's decision to order for a second system to meet their growing demand.
