ABSTRACT
The article examines the criticism of the prospect of a massive economic stimulus package by the "Wall Street Journal" in the U.S. It stresses that the claims of journal editors that the package will excessively expand public spending and that such spending will be ineffectual are misleading. In the author's view, the stimulus package of President Barack Obama is too small compared with the $1.3 trillion tax cut of 2001. He points out that government spending, whether it is pork or not, is still stimulus.
