ABSTRACT
The article features Paul Auerbach, professor of surgery in the division of emergency medicine at Stanford University Medical Center. Auerbach said that his passion for wilderness medicine began when he was a student at Duke University. He also talked about founding the Wilderness Medical Society which started with his friend Ed Geehr. He also emphasized the importance of continuing education for physicians.
