ABSTRACT
The article reports that the U.S. rubber product trade deficit fell 6.2% in October 2008 from the like period in 2007 to $574.9 million. According to U.S. Commerce Department figures, exports for the month increased 8.8 percent to $743.7 million, while imports rose 1.7% to $1.32 billion. In the tires and related products category, the trade deficit decreased 6% to $380.3 million in October 2008. A chart on these figures is also presented.
