ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the impact of the economic downturn on consumer confidence and credit flow in the U.S. Despite the bailout and stimulus programs imposed by foreign countries, experts still expect a significant effect during 2009. The automotive, housing and electronics industries are the major contributor in the decline of copper trade. In response, copper producers are planning to curtail production to match the weaker demand.
