ABSTRACT
The article relates on a study by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which found a decline on the rate of the number of smokers in 2007 in the U.S. It mentions that an estimated 19.8% decline from 20.8% in 2006 was observed. It is noted that basing on the observed decline, the national health objective of reducing the prevalence of adult cigarette smoking to less than 12% is not likely to be met by 2010.
