ABSTRACT
This article presents information on the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Cmmand (SMDC/ARSTRAT), which is the Army's service component to U.S. Strategic Command. It explains that SMDC/ARSTRAT is based in Colorado. The 1st Space Brigade and 100th Missile Defense Brigade which are assigned to the SMDC/ARSTRAT are tasked to track the locations and availability of satellites that provide imager to commanders both at home and in combat theaters. It describes the security of the SMDC/ARSTRAT as tight.
